Start your journey with Romania’s capital city, Bucharest. Then venture into the magical land of Transylvania with its medieval cities like Brasov, Sibiu, and Sighisoara. Two of the most beautiful castles, Peles and Bran (Dracula Castle), along with fortified churches, will complete the experience.
Get an authentic Romanian feel with traditional food and try hands-on local crafts like egg painting and ceramics. Furthermore, Bucovina’s Painted Monasteries, UNESCO sites, and national treasure will give you even more of an insight into Romania’s history, culture, and folklore.

Your guide will pick you up from the Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport. After an orientation tour of Bucharest, you will arrive at your hotel in the city center. You will be accommodated at a centrally located 4**** hotel in Bucharest.
The evening will be at your leisure.
Today you will have a full day visiting the most important landmarks of Bucharest and discover the city throughout the various ages that changed its shape. You will see the remains of the medieval times, the belle époque and the Little Paris, the communist influences and of course you will see how is Bucharest today.
You will begin with one of the most famous landmarks of Bucharest, the Romanian Parliament building or The People’s House, which is the second-largest administrative building in the world, just after The Pentagon.
Now, you will move to a different “age” of the city developed from the late 19th century until the beginning of the Second World War. Due to the new buildings in the city erected in this time, Bucharest gained its nickname as The Little Paris.
In the end, visiting the old town, you will see the Old Princely Court, the original heart of the city.
Bucharest city was built around the 14th century, but the first recorded document about the settlement was issued in September 1459 by Prince Vlad Dracul III. He moved for the first time the Princely Court to Bucharest.

We'll leave Bucharest behind and head towards Brasov city through the Carpathian Mountains.
Our first stop is the beautifully ornate Peles Castle. Here you'll learn more about the Romanian Royal Family and their importance.
The next stop is the famous Bran Castle or more known as Dracula Castle. The day ends with a walking tour of Brasov, a chic mountain city with medieval architecture.

Mostly a transfer day, about 350 km (215 mi) & 6.5 h total time spent in the car. But with a few stops along the way and beautiful scenery, it will feel like a road trip.
Bucovina region awaits to show you all of it's fascinating customs and constructions.
You will be accommodated at a 4**** guest house in Gura Humorului.
This day is dedicated to visiting some of the most important Painted Monasteries of Bucovina. You will start your day exploring Voronet Monastery. Combining Byzantine and Gothic elements is considered by many experts to be the core of the Moldavian architectural style,
The tour continues with Moldovita Monastery which was founded in 1532 with thick walls and defensive towers just like a fortress. In the village, you will visit a prestigious artisan, a great artist who is practicing and teaching the egg painting tradition.
Next, you will visit the Sucevita Monastery which is the best-preserved Moldavian painted church with exterior painting.
Along our way to Gura Humorului, you will have a stop at Marginea Pottery Workshop famous all over the world for the black ceramics.
You will arrive in the late afternoon at Gura Humorului and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Leaving Bucovina behind, we return to the magical land of Transylvania.
A day mostly spent on the road but one that delivers great scenery and enchanting stops along the way. Here Mother Nature shows its best work with natural wonders such as Bicaz Gorges, one of the most fascinating natural parks of the eastern Carpathian. The high rocky walls that seem to hug the narrow road underneath are quite a view.
Another incredible landmark is Red Lake. The mysterious lake is filled with logs from a landslide that legend says it has to do with a beautiful maiden and an ogre. There will be plenty of time for your guide to tell you all the beautiful legends of the place.
Your endpoint is Sighisoara, the last inhabited citadel in Europe and a great example of a Romanian medieval city.
You will be accommodated at a centrally located 4**** boutique hotel in Sighisoara.
Going towards Romania's best medieval city, Sibiu, you'll visit the fortified church of Biertan. Fortified churches are specific to this area of Transylvania and are a very popular tourist attraction.
Prepare for some local flavor with a visit to a gypsy family and later on to a home-hosted meal in Sibiel area.

In the first part of the day, you will visit the beautiful city of Sibiu, the former European Capital of Culture. Founded in the 12th century by the Saxons, Sibiu or Hermannstadt (its German name), was the largest of the seven Saxons citadels. Nowadays, Sibiu has beautifully preserved medieval walls and incredible art galleries.
In the second part of the day, you will return to Bucharest via Oltului Gorges. This is a beautiful scenic drive with a lovely stop: Cozia Monastery.
Between July and November, you will have a ride on the more spectacular road: Transfagarasan. This is a mountain road with a lot of twists and turns that climb at over 6000 ft. altitude offering splendid views to the surroundings. The road-trip is approx 300 km & 4.5h total time spent in the car.
In the evening you will arrive in Bucharest.
